Awards and Recognition

At Queen’s Park, we love awards because they bring our values to life. They give us the opportunity to notice and celebrate children who show Kindness in how they treat others, Integrity in the choices they make, Collaboration in how they work and contribute, and Excellence in the way they strive to be their very best. Awards are our way of saying, “This matters. We noticed. Keep going.” They help every child understand what it means to live our values and make a positive contribution to our school community.

House Points

House Points recognise the everyday choices and actions that make Queen’s Park a great place to learn. 

Children earn points for demonstrating our values of Kindness, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence, with every point contributing to the success of their House. 

Each week, the top House Point scorers from every class are celebrated in their House Meetings, giving children the chance to be recognised alongside pupils from across the school. We also love a little healthy competition between our Houses – building excitement, pride and a sense of belonging, while reminding children that every point they earn contributes to something bigger.

Diamond tickets

Diamond Tickets are for those special moments when a child shows excellence. They recognise children who have gone above and beyond expectations, whether through their learning, behaviour, attitude or contribution to school life. 

A Diamond Ticket says: we noticed something exceptional.

You've Been Spotted

Each week, we choose a particular behaviour or habit that we want to notice across the school. Adults then secretly look out for children demonstrating it, with those who are ‘spotted’ invited to have a drink and a snack while walking Indie, our school dog, at Queen’s Park. The surprise is part of the fun!

Hot chocolate with the head

Hot Chocolate with the Head is a special opportunity to recognise children who have consistently impressed through their attitude, effort or contribution. Children are invited to spend some time with the Headteacher, enjoy a hot chocolate and celebrate what they have achieved.

star of the week

Every week, each class celebrates a child who has particularly stood out. Star of the Week recognises the way a child has lived our school values. It celebrates the many different ways children can shine.

Sports Awards

Our Sports Awards are held annually at Brighton and Hove Albion AMEX stadioum and celebrate much more than sporting ability. Alongside achievement and excellence, we recognise teamwork, determination, resilience, sportsmanship and commitment. They celebrate children who represent Queen’s Park with pride and demonstrate our values both on and off the field.

End of year awards

Our end-of-year awards are among the most prestigious awards at Queen’s Park. Presented at the end of Year 6, they recognise exceptional achievement and contribution across a child’s time with us, including academic excellence, kindness, progress, resilience and the Headteacher’s Award. They celebrate not only what children have achieved, but the legacy they leave behind.
