Newsletter Friday 14th November
Message from the Head
Happy Friday QP families,
We have lots to celebrate this week.
Our fabulous cross-country runners all did us proud by showing so much resilience and finishing the course which is not for the faint hearted. Our wonderful year 6s have come back full of tales of their residential. Several of our year 5s and 6s will go forwards into the final 'Speak Out' event to speak about big issues in society such as mental health, prejudice and pollution for our local councillors. The application has just gone in for our year 4s dance at the dome event - there is a lot of excitement around song choice for their dance. We have started to work with Same Sky for our year 3s children's parade and we are looking forward to sharing the theme for this year with our children. We had an immersive theatre experience in year 2 focused on the Great Fire of London. Our year 1s have been busy whizzing around on their bikes. I can't believe how confident they all are - managing slopes and various road signs. Today, reception have been eating s'mores sat around the artificial camp fire which was delightful!
We are excited about our kindness week awards. Children have been completing nominations for other children where they have noticed them being kind. The certificates they have written about each other are full of really beautiful moments. We feel so proud of them all.
Lots for our children and staff to be proud of and lots more coming up.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and we'll see you bright and early next week!
Best wishes,
Emma Gale

In Brighton & Hove we are passionate about providing your children with freshly prepared school lunches that are true to Caterlink’s fresh food heritage. Our menus are nutritionally analysed to ensure they meet the School Food Standards required. Portions sizes served are age appropriate (different) for nursery, KS1 and KS2 children. These meet the current guidance.
Across Brighton & Hove we use locally based food providers for our meat products, fruit and vegetables. All of the meats used are UK-based Red Tractor products and are delivered in fresh by local farm-assured butchers, including our farm assured burgers and sausages. We only use Free Range eggs and MSC fish. The menu for Brighton & Hove is accredited to the Soil Associations Food for Life Silver standard.
Following tasting sessions with children across Brighton & Hove we have introduced new dishes to the menu including Chicken Biriyani, Chicken Sticky Noodles, Vegetarian Lasagne and a Coconut & Chickpea Curry. Where a dish is vegetarian rather than vegan there will be a vegan option provided.
