Newsletter Friday 10th October

Message from the head

Happy Friday QP families,

As we head into the second half of this busy half-term, a quick reminder that Parents’ Evening will take place in the week before half term. Appointment bookings are now open, so please make sure to secure your slot, we’re really looking forward to celebrating your child’s achievements and discussing their next steps together. Our QP cafe will be open as usual so come with some coins and join SLT in the main hall.

We’re also getting ready for our Freaky Friday Disco on the last day of term, a fun, family friendly way to end a fantastic few weeks. Children can wear their costumes all day, so we can enjoy a full day of spooky fun (nothing too scary, please!).

To help make the disco a big success, we’d love some parent volunteers to help with setting up, serving refreshments, or tidying up at the end. If you’re able to lend a hand, please let the office or your class teacher know, your support makes all the difference!

We’re also incredibly proud of our children’s recent football and hockey successes, their teamwork, determination and sportsmanship have been brilliant. Huge thanks to the staff who’ve organised these opportunities and cheered them on.

And finally, watch this space for our upcoming “Speak Up and Speak Out” event, celebrating pupil voice, confidence and advocacy across the school.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

INTRO INto THE qPSA

As we have settled in to the new year it is a good time to hold our annual QPSA meeting. This meeting is open to all parents and carers of the school and we use the time to chat about what the QPSA does, what events we would like to organise over the year and what the money we raise will be spent on. We also talk about roles and leadership of the QPSA. Some of you may know that Anna, who has been running the QPSA for the past 7 years, has stepped down from this role. So we are looking for new people to take on some of that responsibility.

Some of you may not really know much about the QPSA and what we do, so attached is a poster with a bit more information. But basically we are the school's PTA, we organise things like the fairs and discos and movie nights, and help raise money for the school. Without parents and carers volunteering to help, these events can't happen, so it is really important that we have enough people involved.

If you want to find out more, or get involved, please come along to the meeting on the 7th November after school. We will begin at 3:30pm and children can come along - we will set up some entertainment for them to keep them happy!

We hope you can join us and look forward to meeting some new people!

ANGUS our QPS Support Dog

Today Angus joined the queue of children and had his official school photo taken and made it on the Who's who at Queen's Park School.

I'm sure you will all agree he takes a good photo.
