The children are settling well into the school environment and are becoming more familiar with the school routines. They are beginning to make friends and are exploring the new equipment we have in the playground.
This week we have been developing fine motor skills by using scissors to cut, play dough, threading, colouring and using Lego to build. We have noticed that this year the children are very weak in this area. Please could you help your child to develop their fine motor skills by using some of the above resources at home.
We have also been supporting the children with their pencil grip and they have been practising writing their name by tracing over the letters. We are working 1:1 with the children to ensure that they form all the letters in their name correctly. This is hugely important for when they start writing. If children learn letter formation incorrectly then they have to relearn it when we start handwriting and this can be very challenging for them.
Please support your child with the correct pencil grip when drawing/writing. When your child is able to trace the letters in their name correctly they will be given a name card to practise at home.
Please ensure your child has a named water bottle in school every day and CLOTHING AND LUNCHBOXES ARE LABELLED
Please look out for the text on Friday for the Google lunch option form which we would like you to fill in.
Please ensure you do this by 8am on the Monday of each week so we can ensure your child has a lunch in school that they will eat. We have now added a halal option. Please check the menu before choosing as some weeks we do not offer a halal option every day.
