This has been the children’s second full week in school. They have all been settling into school, making friends, following the school’s Golden Rules and understanding transitions throughout the day. This week we have been thinking about the rule of ‘responsibility.’
They have been continuing to work as a team especially in this tough time as the classroom puppets have gone missing! The children have been working together to help find them, and they have made the binoculars to help them search the playground. They have made missing posters with pictures of Eric and Flora which they have put up around the school. We have had a letter from the ‘police’ who are ‘helping’ us find the puppets. As part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic we have been discussing the role of the police and the fire service.
This week in Maths the children have been focusing on counting. They have been counting carefully to 10, understanding that we have to touch each object when we say the number. We understand that putting objects in a line makes them easier to count. Please find enclosed this week’s numeral, try to support your child in learning the rhyme and together practise forming it correctly. The children also have a new maths challenge to complete!
Thank you so much for completing last week’s maths, these can be kept at home as we don’t need them to be returned to school.
Please make sure that your child’s pack lunch is a healthy lunch, with no chocolate, no nuts or peanut butter please as we have children with allergies.
