What a fantastic maths week!

Each day this week, Year 1 have been taking part in Drop Everything and Count! We have been counting in ones, twos and tens. We have even tried tricking the children by starting from different numbers but they are all super counters and couldn’t be fooled!

We have also been doing lots of practical activities involving shapes. The children took part in an investigation, hunting for 3D shapes in the playground. They have also made some very creative 2D shape pictures, which some presented in assembly.

The latest Traditional Tale we have been learning is The Magic Porridge Pot, a firm favourite with staff! The children worked so well together to create giant story maps and have been thinking carefully about the beginning, middle and end of the story, as well as the problem and solution.

Rehearsals for The Magical Land of Sleep are going really well. Next week we are going to be focusing on their acting skills, please keep practising their lines at home and if they have learnt any actions make sure they include them!

Have a restful weekend!
