This week in year 2 we have been going over lots of key skills in maths. We have looked again at addition and subtraction using both practical methods like dienes and and written approaches like the column method. We have also recapped on how we can count in 2s, 5s, 10s and 3s and use this information to help us answer multiplication and division problems.

In English the children have written a diary entry about a day in their half term break. The children have done a fantastic job of using conjunctions to extend sentences and using interesting sentence starters. We have now moved onto a new unit on information writing. We will be writing about building in preparation for a school trip to Preston Manor. A letter about this will come home on Monday.
