First League Match Vs Woodingdean
Queens Park 0 – 5 Woodingdean
The year 6 boys were ready and excited for their first match of the year against Woodingdean. We headed up to their pitch in high spirits and enthusiasm. During the first half, the boys were finding their feet and starting to work together as a team. They played defensively and Oliver worked hard making some impressive saves. Though Woodingdean scored two goals the boys played hard to defend their goal.
After an encouraging half time chat, the boys went back onto the pitch with their heads held high and determined. Django and Sabi fought hard in midfield to keep the ball and put pressure on the other players. We had a couple of good shots on goal but their defence held out well against our team. Though we had a defeat of 5 – 0, the score does not reflect how well they played. The boys are eager and keen to work even harder in practise and as a team. The man of the match was awarded to Theo for his determination to defend the goal and his excellent sportsmanship.
